Gyotaku (魚拓?) (gyo "fish" and taku "rub") is a traditional artistic method originating in Japan that dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of natural printing was used by fishermen who wanted to keep track of their best catches, but it also became an art form.

During the last years I have enjoyed developing this technique that combines, without wanting it, two of my great passions: the sea and art.
In this series of gyotakus, in which I have also experimented with monotype and silk-screen printing, I pay homage to the sea and to the Barceloneta neighbourhood, as well as launching a reflection on how we are treating our habitat and that of all the beings that live there.

I hope you like it.
I look forward to hearing from you, please email me at:
